Steven Engravalle is a Chief Education Officer and a 13-year veteran of public education in New Jersey. A passionate champion for all children, Mr. Engravalle is committed to ensuring that New Jersey schools meet the needs of all learners in safe, clean, 21st century educational environments. Among his efforts, Mr. Engravalle partnered with MapEverywhere, the leading provider of offline, interactive venue maps for smart-phones in February 2012 to create detailed, hand-held maps of each of his home district schools. The maps are hosted off-premises with local police and fire units, as well as with school administrators, and serves as a vital reference tool for first responders. The technology is the first of its kind in the country.
Mr. Engravalle also actively advocates and speaks on education and civic issues with organizations in Northern New Jersey as well as at the state and federal level and serves as a consultant on education issues to both state and federal legislators. He is frequently invited as a guest of the Governor’s Office to attend his Town Hall meetings and other events to support education reform in New Jersey. Most notably, Mr. Engravalle appeared alongside Governor Christie and other nationally recognized education leaders as a guest on the live broadcast of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” program on March 2, 2012. His efforts were also recognized nationally in October of 2011 by Turner News Corporation when he was contacted to appear on national television as an expert guest on New Jersey’s Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights legislation on HLN Network’s “The Dr. Drew Show”.
